Most early products fail because of complexity that feels productive.
A landing page becomes a mini-platform. A "quick" AI agent becomes an unmaintainable workflow. A founder ships motion without a measurement of whether the motion created a customer.
What I optimize for
I ask three questions before writing serious code:
- What decision does this help a human make faster?
- What is the smallest version that creates proof?
- What will make this hard to change six months from now?
Software is not the product
For businesses, the product is trust, clarity, and a path to revenue. Software and AI are leverage.
That is why my consulting work starts with the offer and the user journey — not a framework preference.
Freedom is a system too
The same idea applies outside engineering. Traveling while working, running rent-by-the-room houses, and building Cohabi all required systems that reduced day-to-day firefighting.
If you want help designing the smallest system that still moves your business forward, book a free consultation.
